Catch the Spirit!
Our Latest Adventure to NorthBay
Becomes a Reality!
A Message from Sharon
I’m really excited about this one! From Friday, July 26, 2013, to Sunday, July 28, 2013, Spirit of a Child (SOAC) will be taking less fortunate families from Operation Homefront Tri-State, serving New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and from Urban Promise in Camden, New Jersey, to our 2013 SOAC Parent-Child Project hosted by NorthBay Adventure Camp (www.northbayadventure.com) in Elk Neck State Park, Maryland.
Ten families, one parent and one child age 7-14, and two adult chaperones will participate in the investigation and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay wetlands and then experience the highest ropes course in Maryland, a newly-constructed low ropes course, 500-foot zip lines over the Chesapeake Bay, an indoor and outdoor rock climbing wall, bouldering wall, game room, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, beach volleyball, and an 18-hole disk golf course. The camp also includes access to a multitude of hiking trails within Elk Neck State Park. SOAC will also sponsor a country music concert on Saturday night.
